Somatic Stress Recovery

Somatic Stress Recovery is a two-month movement and coaching program for anyone experiencing chronic stress and craving time to turn inward toward wholeness.

It’s a unique, science-informed method that helps you move from depletion and overwhelm toward greater stress regulation, enabling you to navigate your life with greater ease and agency

Does any of this sound familiar?

  • You find it hard to relax, and relaxing can make you feel even more stressed.

  • You feel like you are living in constant overdrive, having to be on 24/7.

  • Your thoughts and emotions are becoming exhausting.

  • Your body is tense, and you might have unusual aches and pains.

  • You live in your head and have lost a connection to your body and yourself.

  • You are looking for a release outside of your body from food, alcohol, or excessive sports.

  • You get easily triggered and find it hard to keep your temper in challenging situations.

Did you answer yes to any of the above?

Somatic Stress Recovery is a bottom-up approach to stress and burnout recovery. Grounded in the science of neurobiology, physiology, and psychology, it aims to facilitate a shift in your nervous system toward a parasympathetic state—a state of rest, digest, and recovery.

Through this methodology, you will also learn to be present with the triggering aspects of your stress experience, allowing the body to fully process and release accumulated stress. In addition, you will enhance your resilience to stay with the stress response while cultivating presence and relaxation when needed.

A unique element of this method is also taking into consideration your physiology and how you can affect your felt experience with sleep, nutrition, and nature. This allows you to establish a harmonious relationship between your mind and body, which in turn positively influences how you experience everyday situations. This bottom-up approach ensures lasting change by addressing stress at its roots rather than solely at the level of the mind.

Between stimulus and response there is a space. In. that space is our power to choose our response. In our response lies our growth and freedom.”

— Viktor Frankl

Somatic Stress Recovery is for you if:

  • You need support with stress and burnout recovery.

  • You are done with trying to fix yourself.

  • You want to learn how to deal with your emotional reactivity.

  • You need a place where you can feel safe and explore your inner world without the ruminating mind.

  • You yearn for a break from constant stimulus.

  • You would like to help your body relax and soften again.

  • You want to feel at home and safe in your body.

  • You would like to develop a greater connection to your intuition and creativity.

What to expect:

Our meetings will start with a coaching conversation about your current day-to-day situation. We will discuss your specific needs and how to support your body outside the sessions.

You will then be guided through a gentle and restorative movement journey to open up the body, ease chronic tension, and soothe the ‘busy brain’. This movement could be described as a moving meditation, as it’s soothing, mindful, and yet deep. Movement will mostly be done on the floor, but standing postures are used as well.

You will then be guided through somatic techniques that will help you release tension and complete the stress response cycle in your body.

The session will be finished with integration, which is a deep relaxation journey with hypnagogic elements.

This practice is suitable for all ages, and no previous experience is required.
